CASS and PAVE Certification Information

Each July, Envelope Manager Software products must pass several United States Postal Service tests. These tests are designed to show compliance with the U.S. Postal Service Coding Accuracy and Support Systems (CASS) and Presort Accuracy Validation Evaluation (PAVE) guidelines for address correction, standardization, presorting, and ZIP+4 addition.

CASS
The term CASS, or CASS certification, is also used in reference to addresses that have been verified and corrected by CASS-certified software. Software CASS certification lasts one year - and, unless you're running DAZzle 3.0 or Envelope Manager 3.0, PS3553 CASS certificates printed from your software after August 1, 1997, will not be valid. An upgrade of your software is required to continue using your software to qualify for bulk rate discounts.

PAVE
The Postal Service wants to be sure that, in return for giving you a discounted rate for your mailings, your mail is trayed correctly according to PAVE certification and requirements and the reports and rate calculations are accurate. But don't worry - all Envelope Manager PAVE owners will receive updated PAVE & CASS certification as part of their 1997-98 upgrade/maintenance package.
