ZIP-Station®

ZIP-Stations are the PCs that Envelope Manager® and DAZzle® access for ZIP+4 verification. The majority of modem-based ZIP-Stations are actually run by U.S. Postal Service offices that have purchased our ZIP-Station software. Some of the ZIP-Stations are limited to 100 addresses per phone call (you may redial) so as to avoid competition with vendors who may offer ZIP+4 verification services for large mailers' lists.

ZIP-Stations can also be a corporate and campus solution for those needing access to the ZIP+4 database for a large number of simultaneous users within their LAN, WAN or Intranet. You can also provide private access to users via modem. IPX/SPX or TCP/IP protocols available.

Intranet ZIP-Station
If you have any of our products, you are familiar with our Web-based TCP/IP Dial-A-ZIP® process. The process runs on our Web server as a 32-bit, multithreaded application. It's a separate application from the Web server itself, although it runs on the same physical PC.

While you are always welcome to use our World Wide Web ZIP-Station, if your user community is large enough, you may wish to install your own. The advantages of having your own ZIP-Station are:

  • Your users won't need access to the World Wide Web to access ZIP+4 and address information – they stay within your Intranet.
  • The Intranet ZIP-Station allows an unlimited number of users access to the ZIP+4 database at the same time.
  • An Intranet connection is generally more reliable and much faster (verification speeds of up to 3000 addresses per minute).
  • If you are concerned about the security of your addresses, the Intranet solution never exposes this information to the World Wide Web.
In particular, ZIP+4 lookup speeds are quite dramatic. On our network, the TCP/IP lookup speed is better than the speed achieved with a local, dedicated CD-ROM.

The Intranet ZIP-Station consists of a 32-bit application which runs as an NT service. You can run this on an NT server or NT workstation. Also included is a subscription to the AMS CD-ROM ZIP+4 lookup software.
