This error can mean many things. It may mean you are out of file handles. If you have other applications open, close them. If you have multiple databases open in Envelope Manager, close all but the one you are working on.

If closing databases and applications does not help, confirm that the datbase you are trying to open does exist by using the File|Find function. If the error message mentions a file that ends with the letters "DX", go to the Options menu, choose Database, then choose Create New Indices.

If the problem returns repeatedly, do not just follow these instructions each time! Call our technical support department with the error message on the screen. If you are unable to call at that time, write down all of the text in the box with the error -60 exactly as it appears. Be sure to include the entire path with the three character extension at the end. (The path looks something like c:\winem\mydata.sdx.)
