Except for the one in Palo Alto, CA, the ZIP Stations you call are out of our control. They are run independently by Post Offices (and others) out of good will towards their customers. Like all computers, sometimes ZIP Stations go down. If you can’t get through to your ZIP Station, try the one in Palo Alto. If that one is down, we can reboot it.
If you have never connected to a ZIP Station before, try using 9600 speed and a initialization string like AT&F. (In Envelope Manager go to the File|Preferences menu, in DAZzle go to the Dial-A-ZIP|Dial-A-ZIP Options menu item.)
If you have Internet access, you should try doing your Dial-A-ZIP over the Internet. It’s much faster.
