How do I set up DAZzle to lookup ZIP Codes over the Internet?

If you have access to the Internet, you no longer have to purchase a USPS AMS CD-ROM or dial a ZIP station. Our Internet Dial-A-ZIP methods are fast, easy, unlimited, and a great bargain. You pay for your own Internet access fees, of course, but the ZIP Codes and other information are free. You can look up as many names as you need--unlike most ZIP stations, there is no 100 name limit.

For DAZzle 2001:
Your program is set up to use the Internet by default.

If you want to check the settings, go to the File menu, choose Preferences, and click the Address Verification tab. You should find the address for the ZIP Station set to www.dial-a-zip.com. If that one is not working, try www.envmgr.com or 65.203.54.10

If you click the Advanced button, you should see that the Internet Explorer Engine is turned on. The Proxy will be blank or not listed, because the program reads the proxy server information from Microsoft Internet Explorer. Typically the Keep-Alive and SSL options should be off.

For DAZzle Plus or DAZzle Designer:

  1. Under the Dial-A-ZIP menu, choose Dial-A-ZIP Options.
  2. For Method, choose Internet (TCP/IP).
  3. Click on TCP/IP Options.
  4. For the ZIP-Station Address, type www.dial-a-zip.com.
If that one is not working, try www.envmgr.com or 65.203.54.10
  5. Turn on the HTTP protocol and set the Port to 80.
  6. Leave the Proxy box blank unless you have a proxy server.
  7. Keep-Alive should be off or not visible.
  8. Click OK. You have completed the setup.
  9. Log into your Internet service. Then try checking ZIP Codes from DAZzle.

NOTE: The HTTP protocol is now required. If you do not have an HTTP protocol option, contact sales@envmgr.com or call 800-576-3279 to discuss an upgrade.

For DAZzle Express:

1.        Click the Options button (which is not visible until you advance past the Welcome screen).

2.        Click the Address Verification tab.

3.       Choose the Internet method and set the server address to www.dial-a-zip.com  If that one is not working, try www.envmgr.com or 65.203.54.10

4.       Leave the Proxy blank unless you have a proxy server.

5.       Turn on the Turbo method, if it is visible, with 1000 addresses per batch.

6.       Click OK.

NOTE: If you see an error about a Microsoft web site, go back to the Options button, click the Version Check tab, and turn off the option to automatically check the version every time DAZzle Express is run. Turn it back on again after you have finished checking ZIP Codes.

If at First It Doesn’t Work, Try Some of These Steps:

  1. Log into your Internet service before looking up ZIP Codes.
  2. Make sure you can access a web page. Your Internet service provider might be down.
  3. Try one or more of the following ZIP-Station addresses:
    65.203.54.10 or www.dial-a-zip.com or www.envmgr.com
  4. Find out if you have a proxy server or firewall. If the answer is yes, you may need to configure it.
  5. Some companies, such as the U.S. Postal Service and the University of Florida, have established additional locations for their users to look up ZIP codes. If you work for such a company, use the ZIP-Station address your administrator gave you.
